Product Description
This is a series of short video contemplations about why meditation is important. This first series of 5 videos describes why it is important to meditate based on the Buddhist tradition of the five Skandas. Each of these short lessons have the camera pointed to the ocean and the sound of the waves and wind permeating my voice.
Here is the table of contents of the first 5 videos:
1. Why meditate? How is self is formed. 2:25 minutes
2. Why meditate? Three aspects of mind. 2:13 minutes
3. Why meditate? Non-thought, non-self. 2:19 minutes
4. Why meditate? Compulsive thinking. 3:26 minutes
5. Why meditate? Pure presence. 2:43 minutes
In the next series of videos there will be specific instructions on how to meditate based on the tradition called Shamatha or calm abiding. These videos will be sent by the end of next week (by 4/3/20). This will be followed by five videos on compassion meditation and thus a comprehensive offering as we face the current challenges on our planet. These final 5 videos will be sent around Easter.
